Since the creation of its Fire Prevention Division, Historic Ranch has strived to educate homeowners about the many aspects of fire prevention. The founder, Gene Magre, has hired certified firefighters to fulfill the guidelines of the state and minimize the damages that can occur due to a fire. By creating defensible space, homeowners are decreasing the probability that a wildland fire will take their home as well as providing a safer working environment for the firefighters that are protecting their structures. This clearing also minimizes the chance that a structure fire will spread to the surrounding environment.
